Tynemouth Squash is a friendly, thriving club, catering for players of all standards, situated at the North Shields end of the A1058 Coast Road.
We have a wide variety of memberships available for squash players, and for those who simply want to experience the social side of our club, we host a range of social events throughout the year in our welcoming bar, including live music and televised sporting events. There is also a number of alternative activities available to members, including table tennis, members gym and pool table.
OUR COURTS
We’re extremely proud of our top-notch, squash focussed facilities. Consisting of 5 excellently-maintained courts, including our glass back show court where we host some quality competitions and finals throughout the season, all our courts are available to book for members up to 3-weeks in advance. Whether you are a beginner looking to improve your skills or a seasoned player seeking competitive matches, our courts provide the perfect environment for both casual play and serious training.
It’s not just squash we offer however. There’s two table tennis courts and racketball equipment available to hire, along with a well-equipped conditioning room for warm-ups, work-outs and cool-downs.
If you’re looking to book a court as a non-member, just give the Club a call and a member of staff will happily help get something in the diary for you. Additionally, if you’re wanting to have a look around the Club before taking out a membership, just stop by during our opening hours for a friendly tour of the facilities.

OUR BAR
The bar and lounge area at Tynemouth Squash Club offers a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for members and guests to unwind after a game or simply enjoy a social evening. Our competitively priced and fully stocked bar features a wide selection of beverages, including beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks, catering to various tastes.
The comfortable seating, warm lighting, and friendly ambiance make it the perfect spot to catch up with friends, have a good-natured contest on our pool table, or watch live sports, including the PSA Squash Tour on our large screen projector. There are also many social events in the calendar, including live music nights, pub quizzes and many more, so keep an eye out on our social channels and noticeboards for upcoming dates.
If you are just looking to enjoy our bar area, we have a great value Social Membership on offer. Just call by to pick up a membership form, and a member of staff will happily welcome you in.
Whether you’re celebrating a win or just after a relaxing evening watching some squash, the bar and lounge area is the heart of the club, providing a perfect blend of comfort and camaraderie.
CLUB MEMBERSHIP
We offer a wide range of annual memberships, with options to suit everyone, including our Full Adult Membership, our Couples and Family categories, our Off-Peak option, plus many more. We also offer a 3-month trial, so you can give squash at Tynemouth a go before committing to and annual membership.
When you join, you’ll be offered the chance of a free court session with our Head Coach, which is a great introduction for those new to the sport, or a excellent way for experienced players to be put in touch with others of a similar standard to play, whether that be for friendlies or in our competitive internal box leagues.

SAFE SQUASH
As a community sports club, we recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children (anyone under 18) and adults at risk. We are committed to ensuring our safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance and with England Squash standards.
We are committed to prioritising the well-being of children and adults at risk and providing a safe and welcoming environment where they are respected and valued. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children and adults at risk receive effective support and protection.
Concerns should be raised to our Welfare Officer on the Club Committee, Tom Allan. If they are unavailable, the concerns should be referred directly to England Squash via www.englandsquash.com/safesquash
WE RECOGNISE THAT
- the welfare of children and adults at risk is paramount
- working in partnership with children, their parents/carers and adults at risk is essential in promoting their welfare
- all children and adults at risk, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation have an equal right to protection from all types of harm or abuse
- some children and adults at risk, including LGBTQ+ people, disabled people or people from ethnic minority communities, can be particularly vulnerable to abuse and additional measures and safeguards may be needed to ensure their welfare.
WE WILL SEEK TO KEEP CHILDREN AND ADULTS AT RISK SAFE BY
- promoting and prioritising their safety and well-being appointing a Welfare Officer with responsibility for safeguarding in our venue
- ensure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities in respect of safeguarding and is provided with appropriate induction and learning opportunities to recognise, identify and respond to signs of abuse, neglect and other safeguarding concerns relating to children and adults at risk
- safely recruiting and selecting staff, coaches and volunteers
- promoting and maintaining a positive safeguarding culture where people feel able to raise a genuine concerns and are confident they will be taken seriously
- ensure appropriate action is taken in the event of incidents/concerns of abuse and support provided to the individual/s who raise or disclose the concern
- ensure that confidential, detailed and accurate records of all safeguarding concerns are maintained and securely stored
- prevent the employment/deployment of unsuitable individuals
- ensuring that we have a process to deal with complaints and whistleblowing measures in place
- ensure robust safeguarding arrangements and procedures are in place for other activities, including coaching, competitions, holiday camps, social activities, online activity and social media, transportation and supervision
